"I’ve had many lunchtime meals here and each one has met my expectations. I go with friends and for some it is their first time there – and without exception they all comment on the delicious well-cooked food and great value for money. My great favourite is the fish pie. The “specials” board is particularly good. Try going there and have a meal. I’m sure you won’t be disappointed."
"I Was staying in the village for the week and couldn’t be bothered to cook so went for a meal. best meal I’ve had in a long while. I had the lasagne. it came with garlic bread and a side salad the lasagne just melted in the mouth and was heavenly. The garlic bread was delicious that I ate my boyfriends extra garlic. for pudding i had the moreish peanut butter cheesecake. the chef was really nice and came out and had a good chat with us about our meal asking if the garlic bread was okay as he had recently changed it and we were the first people to have it."
"We have been visiting Docking for many years and have become holiday regulars when in the local area. We have always received the warmest of welcomes from the delightful bar staff and chef. The sticky toffee pudding is the best in the world my son says and the menu is suitable for all the family. A good quality children’s menu and a great value lunchtime menu is always on offer with an amazing lasagne which typifies the quality of food on offer. The chef makes a real effort to mix with the diners and even went the extra mile on pancake day to make it extra special for my children. A real hidden gem in a lovely part of the world. I just wish that we lived closer so that we could visit more often!"
"Four of us went to the Railway Inn today for the first time. The Sunday roast and veg were excellent, and there was a good choice of desserts. The sorbets actually tasted of real fruit, and the chef has shown imagination and flair with his range of ice cream flavours: you don’t expect to see fennel and bay leaf listed along with the usual choices but just wait till you taste them. Prices for food and drinks, including coffee, were very reasonable and the beer is well kept to CAMRA standards, This place is a gem and well worth seeking out.for good food and service. We’ll go during the week next time to find out what other treats are available."
